Svenja Bossen

My name is Svenja Bossen and I was born in North Fresia. I am 45 years old, married, and have a grown son.

It was 2014 when I discovered the enchantment of fly fishing and fly tying. What fascinates me about fly tying is that you can let your creativity run free. For me, it’s great to develop my own variations and then fool sea trout (sea-run browns) with them.

I share this fantastic hobby with my husband. He and I are mostly on the coasts of Denmark because salt water is my element and I feel very comfortable there.

I am now a member of the team from Ahrex Hooks, Raidzap, Veevus, and Easy Shrimp Eyes and love working with them.

As of 1 April 2023, I manage the fly fishing shop “Der Heiländer” in Flensburg and have turned my hobby into my profession. Located near the Danish border, the shop offers everything to please a fly fisher’s heart.

In my fly tying courses, I show other fly fishers how they can tie their own first flies for sea trout because it’s a great feeling to catch a fish with a fly you have tied.

I am very happy to be invited to the EWF and greatly look forward to new experiences.
