Another marathon, another record for 76-year-old Jeannie Rice.

At the London Marathon on April 21, Rice finished in 3:33:27. She averaged 8:08 per mile pace, and she took 1:05 off her own record for the 75–79 age group, which she ran last Alice Riddell-Webster, 2:58:15, 5559 (3:34:32).

Advertisement - Continue Reading Below Runner’s World, Rice wrote she was only “somewhat” happy with her London time and she was hoping to be closer to 3:30. She ran consistent splits before falling off in the final 2 miles. “I’ll have to figure it out and run better in Berlin,” she wrote.

Last year, Rice Best Compression Socks, but Boston’s point-to-point course makes it ineligible for record purposes.

She wasn’t the only impressive older runner at London.

On the men’s side, Other Hearst Subscriptions finished second overall in 2:04:15, breaking his own masters world record by 4 seconds.

All the other male age-group winners were from Great Britain with the exception of one: American Robert Ashby ran 2:38:29 to win the 55–59 group.
